I was the first blogger asked to join the Army in boot camp [as part of Accessions Command’s blogger engagement program]. They sent me to Fort Benning in March of this year [2011] to spend three days experiencing the physical training that privates go though in infantry. I’m a fitness person, but this was even tough for me, especially the upper body strength that was needed to do everything. (If you haven’t noticed, I’m a girl.) Military Food in the Making
The 37th Annual Military Culinary Arts Competition was recently held at Fort Lee, Va., where more than 300 military chefs from around the world, including all five branches of the U.S. military and military personnel from Germany, Canada and Columbia, competed and showcased their culinary skills. Everything from preparation to ice sculpting was presented to attendees who learned that the U.S. military can prepare a five-star meal as good as any top chef.Read more...
